So words cannot describe this disaster enough but I am going to try. We were called out the the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas. The issue was a TV was installed into the wall by a company and they did not like how it was done. The idea was to make it look like a digital picture frame. So first here is what we found.
So there is the obvious.
- Frame was poorly built
- They used the wrong nails
- They used non-paintable caulk
Then there was the glass/plexiglass. We could not figure out why we could not clean it! Finally we figured it out. They had used 2 pieces of plexiglass and not only was it all scratched up but it was filthy inbetween them! SMH.
So here is what we did.
Removed the old frame, reframed, built a new frame, patched the wall and Bobs Your Uncle.
As a side note, the reason it is called Words Cannot Describe is because how do you not know to clean between 2 peices of glass before you put them together?!?!?!
